SEPARATING EMOTIONS AND EATING
When I started this journey in 12/2009, I was one of those people that lost a lot of weight in a relatively short period of time(175 lbs in 18 months) However, I only got 1/2 way on my journey before getting stuck emotionally! 4-5 years have passed between the 1st and 2nd pictures below!
It became clear that in order to move forward I had to deal with the emotional trauma that had been the catalyst to my extreme weight gain! Overcoming my emotional eating/binge eating struggles were a whole separate issue from my weight loss! Ultimately, following a Very Low-Carb diet continued to be the solution for weight loss, but the emotional issues had to be addressed! If you find yourself being controlled by your emotions, please find a counselor, clergy or trusted confidant who can help you separate your emotional roller-coaster from your eating behavior. It's worth the struggle to learn how to allow yourself to truly experience your emotions rather than running from them or trying to smother all negativity with carbs! Life is still stressful, I'm still an emotional person and still learning, but I'm in control and losing again!
